THE ICON

THE ICON shows us precisely the body of a holy person... in the mould of his/her glorious body which partakes in a certain manner of the properties of the spiritual body.
The aim of the ICON is to attune us to the transfiguration of all our feelings, our intelligence and other aspects of our nature.
This contact with the divine world through the DOORWAY of the icon purifies everything and consumes that which cannot be purified.
Every manifestation of human nature becomes clear, acquiring its true meaning and place.

AND PAINTING...

This painting is inspired by a fresco by Theophanes the Greek. It is a study of his masterful brushwork, as well as the translucent luminescence of the saints' transfigured body.
